Chelsea students visit Shimizu: 2006

Day 1: June 23, 2006

Dear all of Chelsea friends,

My name is Hiroaki Hosono, and I am a manager of the Shimizu international exchange association.

16 friends arrived at Shimizu-cho according to schedule. However, It was rain today. We will go to the lake tomorrow. It will be fine tomorrow.

The photograph of the file is a group photo of the mayor and the superintendent of education at the Shimizu town office and welcome party at the Shimizu culture center.

All members are very fine.

Day 2: June 24, 2006 Boat Ride on lake and Family Day

We met in the mountains for a pontoon boat ride on a beautiful lake with view of volcanoes. There was a small island with a shrine. Unfortunately the fog was heavy.

After our ride we met at a local restaurant for a delicious buffet lunch.

Day 4: June 26, 2006

Dear all of Chelsea friends,

16 of Chelsea people experienced the school in Japan at the Shimizu and Mikage JH in the morning. Mrs. Lock's taught English in the junior high school in Japan!!!! Each students did an interesting experience of Japanese JH.

We went to the Nisyo pass, the Maruyama observatory, and 100 yen shop in the afternoon. Students are very energetic,speak speak speak.......in my car!!!

We will visit Shinto shrine,Kindergarten tomorrow morning and experience of Kimono and Tea ceremony afternoon.

Ladies and gentlemen, please look at Shimizu's beautiful scenery!!!!

Day 5: June 27, 2006

Dear all of Chelsea friends,

After cloudy weather, it was rain today. We visited the Shinto shrine, Kindergarten and experienced Kimono and Tea ceremony afternoon. We had a wonderful time.

Ladies and gentlemen, please look at very beautiful young people with KIMONO!!!!!

Day 6: June 28, 2006

Dear all of Chelsea friends,

We did calligraphy today at the Shimizu culture center. We changed the schedule, and went to the strawberry farm in the afternoon. Chelsea students made strawberries to the souvenir of host family. Everyone ate a lot of strawberries. It was very fresh and sweet. It is the last day tomorrow.

All members are very very fine!!!
